The Authentic Materials for Teaching English to Young Learners: Teachers’ Perception

چکیده

This qualitative research aimed to find out the teachers' perception toward use of authentic materials in teaching English young learners at Islamic elementary schools Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia. The participants this were teachers from several Palembang. They selected through implementation a purposeful sampling technique. data obtained one-on-one interviews with open-ended questions. utilized thematic analysis procedures analyze interview and member checking validate accuracy findings. results indicated that had positive their classroom activities tasks. Using helped improve students’ language ability enthusiasm for learning English. However, still faced difficulties selecting appropriate existing students. It implied need make some adaptations using attain greater appropriateness suit specific needs characteristics facilitate effective learning.
